This hotel is not only luxury, but top tier luxury! The hotel and the rooms are stunning, the location is absolutely perfect, rooms were spotless and the bed was super comfortable. But what makes this hotel the absolute best in Chicago is truly their staff! Their attention to detail is like no other. From the bellman Gino, to Claire and Emily at the front desk, to all of the housekeeping team who are always so friendly and keep the rooms spotless, to Michelle and Sharon in reservations to Jasmine in Sales and even the General Manager Robert! The staff here are unparalleled. They each took the time to personally sign a birthday card for me along with a very thoughtful bottle of champagne and even a small gift packaged in a box in my favorite color! I have stayed at this hotel a few times before and I always have such a great time and so I decided to celebrate my birthday with them this year. And all I can say is WOW!! Not only did they do something extra special for my birthday but they had also hand written a “Welcome Back” card with a small Nobu bear for my furry son, Yoshi, who always travels with me. All of these things truly blew me away. But what also really amazed me is how they welcomed me and Yoshi every time we came back from a walk. How Hendrick was always quick to offer a hand when I was walking through the lobby with my hands full. And how every evening when I would arrive back from dinner, James at the front desk would walk me to the elevator to ask how my birthday trip was going and wish me a good evening. I will stay nowhere else but the Nobu Hotel Chicago anytime I am in town. And trust me, if you want to stay in a luxury hotel in a prime location with the best staff in the city, this is the only hotel for you! Thank you to the entire team for making this one of the most special birthdays! I am looking forward to coming back again soon!
I was not having a good day. Missed my bus to Indiana, and Amtrak/Greyhound customer service either incorrectly issued my ticket or gave me incorrect info re: availability 3 times. Was clear I was spending another night in Chicago, so was directed to this Holiday Inn. Walking distance, room available and no waiting to check in, clean, super comfy room, and walking distance to shopping and food. But honestly, the best bit here were the 2 women at the front desk, Beth and Rena. They troubleshot my issues getting on the wifi network, directed me to dinner options. Also, after having been told by Amtrak cust. svc. that there were NO trains or buses to Indiana the next day, I went downstairs to see if either of them had any other ideas for getting there. Rena was still there, and alas, other than a taxi she couldn't come up with anything I had already tried. But 20 min. later, Rena call my room and said she noticed that there was, in fact, a Grayhound bus to IN with seats available...in fact 2 buses, which I hadn't checked as I had already been told by Amtrak/Grayhound there was nothing. So the trip was saved, and I wanted to mention Beth and Rena specifically as they were GREAT, and their help was SO appreciated. :)
