「Hotel Royal is a small and quaint hotel in downtown Long Beach. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the shoreline drive to the lighthouse and the Pike outlets. I had an exceedingly pleasant stay at Hotel Royal. The staff, articulately Mario and Jose, were accommodating. There is hot water all day and I really appreciated that. Also free coffee in the morning. It is close to all kinds of good restaurants, and I had no trouble carrying on with all kinds of fun andbusiness.」
「+$25 Hidden Fee********Hidden Fees********$25+
The midnight check-in guy was friendly and helpful, and disclosed their $25 ”Service Fee” which states $20 on their sign pictured here and then itemized $22+tax on my receipt; the front desk manager was arrogantly defensive and unhelpful telling me to call Expedia when questioned upon check-out and failed to find their fine print on my Trip.com receipts that clearly state all taxes and fees are included in the stated total, bad business practices.」
Great stay & friendly staff, I’d book again. Clean room, facilities & everything worked. The fan part of the AC/heat machine made a weird noise, but it was constant so I grew accustomed to it. Sheets were cotton & plenty of bath linens.
Great location (close to Vons supermarket and not too far from the Convention Centre). But rooms are pretty basic and housekeeping is virtually non-existent. In room air con is extremely noisy. Sheets, pillows and mattress were dirty. Guy at the front desk was very nice - but it is clear the place is run on a shoestring.
I haven't stayed around Long Beach but suspect there are better options for the money.
This hotel really saved my life. Somebody was trying to steal my car and I pulled into the hotel and they welcomed me and they kept me safe. They didn't charge it deposit. They're so sweet and kind. And the rooms are clean and spacious.
I'm staying there again tonight
