My family (2 adults and 7 yr old) had a wonderful time at this resort. Beach: Beautiful blue water with sand that wasn't rocky and rough on the feet! I didn't find many remnants of seaweed, so they did a great job of keeping it clean. Waterpark: We loved the lazy river and spent most of our time in it. The bigger slides that adults could ride were not visible from the main section and we did not see any directionals. Lifeguards kindly informed us of where to go for the larger slides. I recommend that you wear water shoes since this is a water park, but also the ground is really hot when you're not in the water. Entertainment: We enjoyed Snick Lounge. Bring cash to put into the machine so that you can play air hockey or billiards pool. Snick Lounge also has retro arcade games for free! We also checked the app to catch where character pop-ups would be to save some $$ and not do character breakfast (although I heard from another guest that the food was worth the $$ since they love lobster). Family Shows: The resort did a great job of putting on nightly shows to entertain families and let the children participate a little. Food: We pretty much ate all meals at Explorers Table (I think it was named something else before??). They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet style. You can also get some items cooked to order at two of the stations there. BurgersPH was a fun experience. We enjoyed Dominican Night to experience local cuisine without having to leave the resort. Service: The staff at the resort were friendly and helpful; although we did run into one male server at the Explorers Table restaurant that wasn't too hospitable. Suite/Room: We booked a swim-up suite which left us disappointed due to the smell in the room and I found many mosquitos flying around our room every day (so they must not treat the outside area for mosquitos). Had I known before booking about the dengue virus (mosquitos transmit) that is rampant in Caribbean and Mexico, I would not have booked a swim-up suite. Other reviewers mention nausea and I wonder if they actually contracted dengue. Also, if you are family that likes to be around others and not secluded, don't splurge on a swim up...the infinity pool is much better and has a swim-up bar!
I'll start this review by stating trip advisor has a rating of 4 star? Its lucky to be a two star rating. We met our group of 20 at this resort, we had what they call the diamond club in which your group has their own butler. Thank god for him he went above and beyond taking care of us trying to make up for a poorly run resort. The overall condition of the resort is aged with items in disrepair, for example light switches in the room when pushed fell into wall. One of our couples had no air conditioning for two days. Two other couples had husbands that needed handycap carts to get around and were put on a second floor room, took a day to fix that problem. The food was nothing to brag about especially the steak house where everything was tough it should be noted we have traveled to the DR at least 10 times and always stayed in all inclusives. This resort was the worst we have stayed in,it did not come close to its web page. Its my understanding that the employees are held accountable for the reviews and they are pressured to have guests provide a positive review. The only good thing about this resort is the employees. Upper mangement should be replaced with someone that truly cares about its guest.
The hotel was fabulous in that it was clean, spacious, modern, and had a calm business vibe. It is set outside of the main Madrid attractions, which is nice for business travelers. If you are traveling to see the sites, you will need to take an Uber/ taxi, which is about 15-20 minutes per traffic and time of day. It's not bad, but not ideal if you want to walk out from your hotel and be in the action. Apart from location, the front desk staff are super friendly and helpful, the hotel has a modern vibe, and has some cool restaurants located around its vicinity. Im a huge fan of AC hotels now because of this beauty we stayed at in Madrid! Although its kinda far from the attractions, I'd still return and stay at this location again and refer it to future travelers!
Hey all! As you have all expressed your fantastic thoughts, opinions and tips. I thought I would do the same. Your helpful hints and explanations were a great guide for us and I hope to do the same! A little background….we are a family of 4 (kid 10/4) traveling with another family of 4 (10/8). We had a master bedroom suite (club room 2311). We all went to the Finest last year and had a wonderful time as well. We have traveled to the DR frequently. 1. Arrival- we decided to do VIP arrival only because last year we were 30 minutes delayed from Newark and immagration took almost two hours and it was a night mare for us. The other party we flew with did not but the VIP and they were at the resort about 45 minutes after us. So in the end because of my 4 year old it was worth it. We started the vacation in the right mood VIP picks you up by golf cart from the plane to the VIP lounge. Your attend brings you in take your passports and transportation information and you are free to roam the small lounge. Soda, water beer wine and snacks are all there for your taking. She took our bag claim ticket to receive our luggage within 5 minutes we were out and off with beer wine water snacks in hand. They have a lovely bathroom (that we were barely able to use because it was so quick). We used destination meeting point for transfer without an problems… 25 minutes later we pulled up 2. We were greeted immediately, offered our name and was given our baggage tags. Whisked off to club lounge where we started the quick check in process. I asked to be introduced to our butler and Will was there waiting for us. He was the best! We saw him everyday he helped with reservations for 8. On the club level you can have bottle of non brand wine and liquor with mixers brought to your room. He made sure there was a bottle of wine and Dominican rum with mixers case of water, he would have cheese and crackers sent to our room chocolate covered strawberries alll without asking. He set up our room cleaning times and was a pleasure to be around. I will note we gave him $30 on check in $10 in between and $50 on our wait out. He was worth it in our opinion Key here is ask for what you are offer, need and want. Tip appropriate and all things will come to you 😀🤣 2. Our room was amazing spacious and lovely. We were 2311 (building 2) (floor 3) (11). If you are ocean view you want the last two number to be lower. The lower the number the closer to the beach! 3. I thought the food was amazing considering AI and the Finest last year. Remotest noodle and thread a must. The buffet Mercado was great too. Breakfast amazing and had some great dinner nights too We did waves for adults only dinner. Considering DR it was good. But if you are steak person you might be over the moon The coffee shop and ice pops and desserts are fantastic! 4. The resort is beautiful. Maintained impeccably and super clean The beach was fantastic ! Yes ladies and gentlemen there is sea**** this time of ye
Update: Nearly two weeks have passed since we left Zilara, and we’re still reminiscing about what a wonderful trip it turned out to be. Although it took us a bit of time to fully settle in and appreciate all that was offered, we found ourselves completely captivated by the experience—and if given the chance, we would gladly return. What truly changed our perspective was the exceptional attentiveness of the staff. Their commitment to going above and beyond, the relaxing spa, and the chance to fully immerse ourselves in everything Zilara has to offer all contributed to making our stay unforgettable. A special thank you to the management team, particularly Flora and Jenny, who turned our trip around by quickly and thoughtfully addressing our concerns. Their kindness and proactive approach genuinely enhanced our experience, leaving us with wonderful memories. Special shout out to Bryan, our favorite entertainment staff member. We also truly enjoyed the One Eyed Cat's bartenders and the pianist was THE BEST EVER. We’d love to return with our family and hope to visit the Ziva side next time. Updated notes for concerns: Seafood Fest: We had a special seafood dinner that was delicious! Beach Rinse Stations: These remained clogged, but I did see workers using buckets to try and empty the water. Cheap Soap Dispensers: This will take time to purchase new ones. Room Cleanliness: House keeping sprayed some sort of deodorizer that helped the mildew smell some. I strongly suggest cleaning the shower with bleach and investing in aroma therapy in the rooms. Our rug was never vaccumed or swept. Pillows: We were given extra pillows. I ended up sleeping with four of them. Club-level access: This still seemed unnecessary to use, but if we had the club-level with the butler service that may have changed things. Those club-level members seemed really happy with that added level of attention and beach front rooms. I also suggest putting a pool table in the club-level bar so the Zilara side does not have to fight the kids at Moments Bar EVERY night to play pool. Seaweed: We are beach people and spend almost all of our time on the beach. For those who love pools (these are awesome) and spend most of their time there, this will not matter to you. For those who are bothered by seaweed, we have been told to avoid certain months (September- November) as they yield more seaweed than others. It did seem to dissipate as the week went on. There are barriers in the ocean to try and catch most of it. SN - The Cabanas are very nice if you want to spend a day at the pool. I would suggest the cabanas at the main pool however, as you can not see the ocean at all from the club level pool; again, we LOVE the beach. Previous post: We are currently staying at the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, and this review is written for travelers who are well-versed in all-inclusive resorts, particularly in the luxury category. Overall, the hotel is a good choice, with several high points
We just spend a week at the resort and it was an amazing time. We went for the beach and the relaxation and it did not disappoint. While it's not a beach to take long walks on (or even short ones), it is beautiful and the ocean is amazing. In speaking with some of the managers there, they noted how the owners want the beach to be a place just to relax - so there are no activities such as jet skis out in the ocean or even paddle boards. We certainly appreciated that. We stayed in a one room villa and it was very nice and well appointed and the outside private pool (more than a plunge pool) was amazing. The three restaurants on site were very good for dinner and lunch at the beach is standard beach fare amped up just a little. The staff works hard and it shows. Special call outs to Wilson at the beach who always made sure our Presidente was very cold and for bringing great energy to his job. And to Daniel at breakfast who made every morning that much better. Lena in the spa gave a great massage. If you're looking for a higher-end resort to just unwind and relax this is a great place.
This hotel is located on the beach the food is fabulous and the staff cannot do enough for you. It's absolutely fantastic especially the Jonnana who is a fantastic member of staff. Jonnana will bend over backwards to make your stay special. 10 out of 10 for this wonderful hotel. Many swimming pools and great entertainment. Winnie and David
