We should have known when we pulled up to the hotel midafternoon on Thursday it was good to be bad as there was a hobo sleeping on the bike rack. After going into the lobby, and noticing cones everywhere along with a staff member yelling, we should have fled. Absolutely NO NOTICE was given that this hotel was under renovation until we checked in. And we were told it was only happening on a floor we weren't on, but guess what the entire hotel is open thru to the lobby. Then we were told only happening from 8 - 5 - that wasn't the case at all. Most days until 6 or 6:30. There were crews and noise and debris everywhere. DO NOT STAY HERE. We already paid in full or would have left. Not what we expected from a DoubleTree and completely unacceptable. A truly horrible experience
We booked a king bedroom suite, what we got was two queen beds a floor above construction. None of this was disclosed until the room was paid for at the front desk. The staff and service was very kind and you can tell they are aware of it, but the building itself is not nice, you also have to pay $18 for parking to park in a unit that isn’t even connected to the hotel, it’s quite literally just a random separate parking garage next to the hotel with no stairs or elevators
