Lovely hotel and lovely staff, perfect for the evening to relax and recharge

Wonderful hotel, nothing to much trouble. Restaurant food was excellent, tea and a scone or afternoon tea served afternoons, is delicious. Really clean hotel, bedrooms very spacious, had sea view was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am an ex beautician that was employed at the Headland Hotel, doing an 3 months probation period after two months of being there the hotel caught fire to be told no worries your be going to another hotel which was the Palace then given an stinken email that I failed my probation period what an down right dirty trick to be done to me over the Xmas period for no fault of my own at the same time they didn't have any balls to contact me in person and I was took off the WhatsApp group and I was blocked so couldn't get in touch and was supposed to be on a 40hr contract but was told if no clients don't get paid and whoever goes there to work make sure you watch out as you get ripped off on your wages.

Were booked for our usual Chris**as stay, unfortunately a fire brought our stay to an early end. The staff were excellent keeping us up dated as and when they could, the main thing was no one hurt, most guesrworked as a team helping those less able. The few days before were wonderful, great food, quizes and entertainment . Will be so pleased when can re book a holiday at this lovely hotel, where the staff go above and beyond to help you. A vast improvement this year , the breakfast was fantastic hot and fresh every morning. It was a help yourself full English. along with the usual variety of cereals, fresh fruit yogurts, etc. Plenty of helpful staff around if you needed them. Nothing was too much trouble. We spent a week there in a clubroom, One up from the basic standard rooms , With a Sea view, Our only recommendation would be an upgrade in the chairs, To make any ones stay a little more comfortable. It was obvious there had been a change of Management and the manager lead from the front. This was evident in the working relationship he had with all of his staff, Including Caroline the hotel receptionist, Who was our first port of call. We would certainly recommend the Headland and cant wait to return.

I plan on booking again lovely hotel and staff were lovely, it is on a hill and needed to get a taxi back up from the town, but the bonus is that we had some lovely views. if you want the spa you must book in soon as you can as i missed out in that !!!

The location is lovely. The staff was helpful & friendly but some were quite inexperienced. The food was very nice but the dinner times changed without notice. Booked a superior room w garden view but got a room overlooking the car park, which could at times be noisy and was extremely hot. No air conditioning or fan available. The general areas of the hotel and room were clean but the outside bar terrace floor was dirty. The final bill had mostly wrong dates for dining and we were overcharged, which was settled after some further email communication.

My mate and I tried a ‘Locals Lazy spa day’ for our joint birthdays yesterday. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more. The afternoon tea was incredible- pastry chef Derek really outdid himself- and the Swedish back massage by masseuse Nikki was firm but fabulous! Service in the restaurant was swift and friendly too. Simply put, why would you go anywhere else in Torquay?
