The Chongming Dongtan Birdwatching Life Season Kicks Off

On November 29, 2025, Shanghai Chongming Dongtan Wetland Park will host an ecological grand event—the 2025 Chongming Dongtan Birdwatching Life Season · Community Public Welfare Cultural Festival. As Shanghai’s only World Natural Heritage site, Chongming Dongtan is now swaying with reed snow and flocks of birds dancing in the air, making it the perfect season for birdwatching. The event features a variety of highlights. From 9:15 to 11:30 at the main venue, a music flash mob will play the ecological overture, followed by the award ceremony for the National Nature Journal Competition winners and the release of results from the Chongming Dongtan Citizen Science Project, showcasing every step of ecological protection achievements. In addition, awards will be presented to outstanding volunteers, citizen scientists, and winners of the rural bird photography contest, jointly witnessing the proud moments of ecological conservation. From 9:00 to 16:00, the community public welfare cultural market will gather multiple conservation organizations, cultural and creative brands, and community forces to help you deeply understand wetland protection.
