Sofitel Legend Xi'an – Continuing the Legend of Xi'an!

[Dolphin] Finally booked a night at Sofitel Legend during the week. Heading to Xi'an right away! [Kiss] Booking: Prime Minister Room [Kiss] Upgrade: Prestige Suite [HandsUp] Arrival: Upon arrival at the Legend Hotel, the concierge insisted on helping with the luggage. During check-in, I felt the front desk didn’t recognize my membership status as they didn’t mention any member benefits, and the staff seemed nervous. After check-in, the butler asked at the elevator if I’d like a room tour, which I accepted. However, the minibar wasn’t introduced, so I had to call the front desk to confirm if it was chargeable. [HandsUp] Room: Stepping into the room, I immediately felt a cool breeze—a welcome relief from the 39°C heat outside. The hotel had clearly preset the temperature, a thoughtful touch! 👍 Though the room felt a bit compact due to the historic building’s constraints, the decor was meticulous and well-maintained. Very satisfied! 👍 PS: I called ahead and was assigned a room on the 5th floor. Before my stay, I read many reviews mentioning loud elevator noises, but I experienced none—it was very quiet. As someone with light sleep, I had no issues, so rest assured! [HandsUp] Public Areas: Due to the historic building, the gym is small but equipped with basic fitness gear. The pool is also compact, with the whirlpool at room temperature. The lobby bar features a Western palace-style decor—perfect for photos (several groups were shooting there). [HandsUp] Benefits: For Platinum members and above, the lobby bar offers all-day soft drinks, tea, and coffee. A funny detail: When I asked for sparkling water, the staff was about to pour San Pellegrino, but a lady at the bar stopped him and served Watson’s instead. 😂 [HandsUp] Happy Hour: The drink selection is quite rich, with Western-style tapas for snacks. The desserts looked great too. Note: Happy Hour is open to all guests, so it might get crowded during peak times. [HandsUp] Breakfast: The hotel serves a semi-buffet breakfast. I’ve posted the à la carte menu earlier—check my profile for details. The à la carte dishes were decent but not outstanding. The buffet included fresh juices (thumbs up!), various breads, smoked salmon, mackerel, etc. [ThumbsUp] Verdict: Having stayed at many Sofitel properties, this was my first time at a Sofitel Legend. The attention to service details stood out. The breakfast was diverse with personalized ordering. Whenever I made a request, the staff went out of their way to accommodate. I’d rate it 8/10—a great experience and worth visiting!
