Worth a visit
Not many international visitors know the background of this sad event where a fire was lit and the backpackers were unable to escape, hence the Memorial which is located in the heart of Childers.
Absolute must
Beautiful thoughtful respectful modern memorial not like any I have ever seen. A must visit. So very sad. It's so hard to understand the tragic loss of these young lives in this building where you are...

Beautiful tribute to the young lives lost. Well worth a stop by to pay respects and learn about the disaster that changes the lives of many. Highly recommend.
