Strozzi Palace

The Strogge Palace is impressive with its unique large square size. Located in the heart of Florence, it is a noble mansion that is now an art gallery, but not the kind of permanent exhibition.

The Strozzi Palace, which was not on my list of visits, was attracted by its vast, dark loess-colored stone walls when passing by, so striking that it was impossible to ignore its existence. It was a private palace built in 1486 to highlight the prestige and status of the banker Strauzi's nobles. At present, the palace is mainly used for art exhibitions, and several theme exhibitions are displayed at the same time. Like the entire architectural style, a very strong artistic atmosphere is haunted by it.

The Palace of Strauzi is not far from the Palace of Davanzati and is only a ten-minute walk from the cathedral on the cobbled streets of Florence. It doesn’t have the warm hues of Davanzati and the amazing exhibits of the Palace of Vecchio, and in fact it reminds me more of the bright hues of the Palace of Medici. That being said, I highly recommend visiting the Palace of Strauzi if you are looking for a variety of elements. Similarly, if you want to visit more attractions and seek some discount information, you may need to visit Florence Card.

Excellent museum venue for exhibits. Very well down. Better than most. I saw the da Kandinsky a Pollack exhibit here and it was beautiful.

Palazzo Strozzi is a microcosm of the whole city – and one of its finest expressions. Situaed in the heart of Florence, is one of the finest examples of Renaissance domestic architecture.

Palazzo Strozzi is not only a stunning example of of Italian Renaissance "domestic" architecture, it's an often overlooked art and culture museum as well. Years ago I saw a show of the portraitist Annigioni (think Queen Elizabeth on the cover of Time Magazine). As I write this the next show opening features American painters in Florence.
