As always we were greeted with a friendly face and smile at reception,we arrived before check in time but they always check to see if a room is available. On this occasion it wasn't but they happily took our bags in so we could go enjoy our afternoon without the worry of carrying them around.
Check in was quick and simple and we were in our room within 5 mins of check in. Room was spacious clean and fresh. We were given a twin room this time which was perfect as I was traveling with a friend not partner.
Bed was super comfy with great pillows.
Shower was really nice ,decent water pressure and the shower gel provided was lovely too.
Breakfast was a big selection of the normal cooked, everything was fresh and tasty, bacon was slightly over cooked but the rest was great. Nice selection of pastries too.
Continental is also an option there. Fresh juices and hot drink available also.
Overall another 5* stay in my opinion and as a regular user will be returning again in the nr future! Thankyou Hilton.
Unfortunately for us , our stay at this hotel was marred badly by the dreadfully dirty room we had ; I am sure it was a health hazard . On arrival, the room we were allocated was very small, but more to the point it was MOULDY - walls, windows etc . :( I went to reception where the lady there was so lovely, she was very apologetic and sympathetic and called the Manager , who was equally as pleasant and helpful and very considerate . She showed us another 2 rooms , one of which seemed light and more airy - we thought . Sadly, upon further inspection, which came to light when I tried to open the windows for some air as it was very hot and stuffy and as I am asthmatic, it would have been good to get some fresh air through - but oh dear, this was not to be .The window frames were thick with black and we could not open any . The bathroom was very , very grubby , the bed frame worn right through, the bedroom chair full of dust and grime - we were not sure if we could see mites on one side of the chair- it was so dirty we would not sit in ti and the whole feel of the room made you feel cringy , like you needed a real good scrub! I could not believe it, it ruined the stay . The shower slip mat was mouldy , the windows rattled every time traffic went by . The pillows were biscuit thin . The bed was the worst I have ever slept in - hard, lumpy, could feel the springs , no mattress topper . :( Goodness, I didn't htink rooms like this existed in this day and age !! Absolute health hazard x 2 !! We had tried twice!! There was so much grime in the bathroom , I cringed having to wash in there. We would never use this hotel again ever, and that is a shame as their facilities are good , evening entertainment good , Bistro gets our vote entirely as all staff in there were lovely and friendly, and the food in there was excellent and very good value for money - I highly recommend ! But when you are staying, your room, to me , forms your home for the week, and ours , despite the hotel's efforts , was dreadful. Such a huge disappointment . I am not a person who would normally have this much to say - but our stay was, as I say , runied , knowing we had to go back to this awful grime ridden room each night . I did not see any point asking again - what would be next ?? So, sorry , Derwent , but keeping just your public area's clean and negelcting rooms to the point we had, we will not return, nor, so our 3 friends who were with us , say neither will they . We even considered going and booking another hotel whilst there but that would have meant, of course, we would have paid double for a stay ? Never seen such dirt . Food in restaurant = mmm , presentation not good, sloppy looking meals , tepid temperatures. Bistro food and service = 10 / 10 - Thank you , Aztec Bistro !
Stayed in 328. Room fantastic with great views. Everywhere clean and well maintained. Staff excellent very professional. A good breakfast. Pool just big enough and not too busy. It’s our third visit and will be back again in 2025.
We are just back from a 2'night stay , and there were good and bad issues. The good were the reception staff were smiley and helpful when we dealt with them , we didn't eat here so can't comment on the food or cafe staff . The price was great 60 pounds for the 2 nights . We were in room 121 and the bed was clean and comfortable and so was the living room area . The bad When we arrived I was directed to the parking machine to pay my 8 pounds for my 48 hour stay, the machine was surrounded by vomit somebody had obviously decided to throw up around it and it was awful, on reporting it to the reception staff to be fair I went passed 30 mins later and it was cleaned up. The living room as I said was clean but the bathroom well nothing really was right ......the extractor fan in the shower didn't work , the door handle didn't work so we couldn't close the bathroom door, the flush handle was loose as was the towel rail fitting, but worse than all this there were toe nail clippings all over the floor as someone had obviously sat on the loo and cut their toe nails and the clippings left on the floor. The car park ......a couple of options I think either take 1 space out either side to make each space wider or do they really need 4 disabled bays in such a small car park or enforce the rule on the website which says ” only normal size cars in the car park ” as during our mid week stay a lot of contractors we're in and several Transits and Sprinters were there and they are not normal size vehicles . However by sheer coincidence 4 of the contractors who were there during our stay were disabled and occupied the said 4 wide bays ,what a coincidence that was !! during fag breaks on cold December evenings a couple of guys also decided to smoke their fags in their vans with the engines running for some heat ...... again annoying if it's very late at night to hear a diesel van running under our window. Travelodge should decide if this is going to remain a cheap tradies stopover place or put a bit of investment into it . To sum up 30 pounds a night is the right price do not pay any more than that for what is really a contractors stop over place and paying your 4 pounds a day parking doesn't guarantee you a space in the car park .

Friendly welcome on arrival. Given a lovely king-size room with Seaview (meadow suite) The room was so spacious and relaxing to be in. All very clean. Great facilities such as pools, steam room, sauna and hottub. No issues with parking ,limited carpark size but plenty of street parking available. 5 min walk to the town. This hotel exceeded our expectations as a last minute booking. And came away all relaxed, calm and de stressed. Will definitely be back.
The building is old and could use a lick of paint and some new carpets. However, the room had been fully decorated, was great value, clean and tidy with a bath tub rather than just a shower. and a heated towel rack. The TV signal was really bad, but the WiFi was good, so we were able to watch TV on our devices. There was free off road parking. More options for breakfast would be nice, but if you like a simple continental it's nice. There were lots of options to local restaurants on deliveroo, so we were able to enjoy a nice meal in the lovely alcove in the room where there was a table and 2 chairs, looking out the bay window. The staff, Hissan and his team were amazing, caring and friendly, providing ice for our cooler twice and also amending our booking to a second night stay, without making us change rooms. For an inexpensive stay, you'll have a hard time finding better.
