Not much remains of the once important military town of Jiubian

The Drum Tower of the ancient city of Xuanhua is named after the General-in-Chief of Xuanfu Town during the Ming Dynasty, who wore the General's seal of Zhenshuo. It was built in the fifth year of the Zhengtong era (1440) and is the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The plaque on the south side reads 'Zhenshuo Tower', while the north side bears the imperial inscription 'Shenjing Pinghan' written by Emperor Qianlong during his inspection of Xuanhua in 1745. If you look closely, you can also see the dragon patterns carved around the frame. 📷📷📷📷 For a 10 yuan ticket, you can climb the tower, where there is a timekeeping clepsydra and a large drum for telling the time. You can also gaze into the distance at Gongji Tower and Qingyuan Tower, and reflect on how little remains of the once important military town of Jiubian.
