Hong Kong West Kowloon Station (Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou–Shenzhen–Hong Kong Express Rail Link) operates from 6:00 AM to midnight. As a cross-border rail hub with a co-location arrangement, it serves as an immigration checkpoint where travelers complete all Hong Kong and Mainland entry and exit formalities under one roof before crossing the border.
You’ll find the Hong Kong Port Area (High Speed Rail West Kowloon Control Point) inside the restricted border-control zone on the B2 and B3 levels of West Kowloon Station, where travelers complete immigration and customs clearance.
The Hong Kong-side control point is staffed by Hong Kong Customs, the Immigration Department, the Department of Health, and other relevant units. On the departure level, there are 30 e-Channel lanes and 30 counters for Hong Kong residents and visitors to handle departure formalities.

The Mainland Port Area (rail port for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail at West Kowloon Station) is located within the designated zones on Levels B2 and B3 of West Kowloon Station, the platform area on Level B4, and the related connecting passageways.
The Mainland Port Area immigration hall features 30 automated and 18 staffed inspection channels, with mainland Chinese law enforcement officers on duty to enforce mainland laws and carry out border control and customs clearance checks.

At Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, a co-location immigration arrangement is in place using a same-floor clearance model, which means both departing and arriving travelers can complete exit and entry formalities on the same floor.
You can begin ID verification, security screening, immigration clearance, and boarding as early as 120 minutes before your train departs, and it usually takes about 30 minutes to complete the boarding procedures. During festivals and holidays, and if you’re traveling with a passport or using the immigration inspection counters, be sure to allow extra time.
B1 Ticketing Concourse: Have your travel documents (cross-border e-ticket) ready and complete identity verification and ticket validation in one go at the self-service turnstiles or at a staffed assistance counter to enter.
B1 Ticketing Concourse: Follow the signs to complete baggage and security checks. To breeze through security, we recommend removing personal items (like your mobile phone, coins, and keys) in advance and placing them in your carry-on or luggage so the process is quicker and smoother.
B3 Level Departures Hall: Before crossing the boundary, first complete Hong Kong exit procedures and leave the Hong Kong control point. Then, on the same level, enter the Mainland Port Area to complete Mainland China entry procedures. Once everything’s done, head to the waiting hall, then proceed to your train’s ticket gates and use your travel document or boarding QR code to enter and board. *Ticket gates open 15 minutes before departure and close 5 minutes before departure.
