I had a pleasant stay at Sheraton Grand Taipei. The staff were very professional and spoke English well, which made communication smooth. There is a convenient luggage storage service available, which was a big help.
The room was clean and well-equipped with essentials such as a hairdryer, drinking glasses, dishes, and complimentary bottled water. However, one point to note is that the lower floor houses the main restaurant, and during lunchtime, the area gets quite busy with tour groups and other guests. As a result, food smells can linger in the elevators and even stick to your clothes when walking past. It would be great if the hotel provided air freshener spray in the room to help with this.
The location is excellent, just one stop from Taipei Main Station and within walking distance to the NanXi shopping area, making it extremely convenient for both travel and leisure.

Good stay for a five star hotel, cleanliness is ok, floor is a bit sticky but it’s ok with the disposable slippers provided. No toothpaste nor toothbrush provided. Location is 10mins walk to xiaonanmen station, 10mins walk to Carrefour with McDonald’s, Japanese restaurants and discount off its bakery after 7pm. It’s very far if walk to or from Ximen station. No sheltered walkway at all so can be troublesome if rain. Tried the free shuttle service to Longshan and we were the only riders in the mini bus. For amenities, only has gym at level 16 with nice view. SPA are additional charged. Breakfast buffet has live station with shrimp porridge, breads from Hanabby bakery at level 1 of hotel, braised pork rice, oden, beef shabu etc. The food selection changed for both days I went. The Taipei Fullerton is a well located and comfortable place to stay, but it's let down for cleanliness and showing it's age a little.
The first room that I was shown had someone's left half ice cream in the fridge, and the bathroom had not been cleaned properly.
Whilst they did act and moved me to a new room (which I think was a slight upgrade as it had a sofa and a little more space), you can still notice that the windows suffer from the humidity and aren't kept in good condition, and other small things like this, like the lights in the lift having dust and dirt inside them.
Also the lighting in the bathrooms is quite poor, you cannot easily see yourself in the mirror which can make shaving difficult.
A real shame these small details aren't kept on top of, because otherwise the staff are lovely and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel.FromHK$794

We stayed on the 17th floor, and the shower pressure was unbelievably low – it felt weaker than a toilet flush. I reported this to the front desk. They asked if we'd like them to send someone to check it, but it was already past 9 PM, and we had already showered. Given we were only staying one night, I simply wanted to bring it to their attention, not necessarily request an immediate fix. Whether the hotel followed up to inspect or repair it after we checked out remains to be seen, and will be for the next guest to find out.
Also, the pillows were quite soft. I asked the front desk if they had firmer options. The staff member who answered the phone surprisingly asked how many nights we were staying. After I replied 'one night,' she just said, 'Oh, we only have one buckwheat pillow and one memory foam pillow.' So, we had no choice but to try those. The room is quite clean but there is lack of electrical sockets.

This hotel is outstanding in almost every way. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful. The room is clean, the breakfast is excellent, location is central in the city, and the price is more than reasonable. I want to particularly mention Miss Herin Lin (林珮慈). She went extra miles to help my wife seeking medical assistance by accompanying us going to hospital, arranging all the paper work and everything. We travel extensively all over the world. We think by any standard Miss Lin is a model worker in hospitality industry.

I had a really nice stay here and was even able to extend my stay for another night spontaneously. The hostel is in walking distance (~5-10min) from the train station which is super convenient. The bed was really great with a lot of space as well. In addition, the staff were super helpful and kind. They provide a little breakfast with toast and croissants and there’s a very spacious common area as well.

Great for family trip. The service of room was satisfying and quite fast. As soon as we enter our room in third floor, we noticed the size of slippers provided was too large. Take parents to celebrate the golden wedding and relax. It didn’t take long to stay at 3 pm. I was soaked. I was hungry at 6 or 7 in the evening. There was a buffet above the standard.

The room itself was just okay. While the shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water, I was quite concerned that the hand soap and conditioner were over two years past their expiration date – it made me wonder if they hadn't been replaced or were simply refilled. Additionally, the bed sheets were very pilled, and both the TV and phone in the room were out of order.
When I brought these issues up, I was surprised to be told that the room I was assigned already had known problems and that I could be moved to another one. They did offer a room change, but given it was already well past midnight and I was exhausted, I decided against the hassle. I truly hope they'll pay more attention to these details and conduct thorough room checks in the future.

However, one point to note is that the lower floor houses the main restaurant, and during lunchtime, the area gets quite busy with tour groups and other guests. The room is very spacious with Japanese style of sitting area of chit chat. The private hot spring inside the room is cool as well as the outdoor public hot spring is a different experience. Do take note to bring along your swimming costume to enter the outdoor public. The amenities in the hotel is nice and clean.
There isn’t much choice for dinner at the hotel as there is only 1 Japanese restaurant serving the food. The food is slightly on the high side but the taste is delicious.
The breakfast area is decent with many variety of food.

Cleanliness of the room was great, room was clean and in good condition upon checking in. The aircon in the room is always too cold, and adjusting it doesn’t seem to make a difference so do take note if you’re sensitive to the cold! The free shuttle bus to and from the hotel to either New Beitou/Beitou station was super convenient as well, and the driver was really experienced, we didn’t experience any discomfort with the winding roads. The personal bath was amazing, super relaxing and could definitely a couple inside with more than enough space to spare! The Taipei Fullerton is a well located and comfortable place to stay, but it's let down for cleanliness and showing it's age a little.
The first room that I was shown had someone's left half ice cream in the fridge, and the bathroom had not been cleaned properly.
Whilst they did act and moved me to a new room (which I think was a slight upgrade as it had a sofa and a little more space), you can still notice that the windows suffer from the humidity and aren't kept in good condition, and other small things like this, like the lights in the lift having dust and dirt inside them.
Also the lighting in the bathrooms is quite poor, you cannot easily see yourself in the mirror which can make shaving difficult.
A real shame these small details aren't kept on top of, because otherwise the staff are lovely and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel.FromHK$794

We stayed on the 17th floor, and the shower pressure was unbelievably low – it felt weaker than a toilet flush. I reported this to the front desk. They asked if we'd like them to send someone to check it, but it was already past 9 PM, and we had already showered. Given we were only staying one night, I simply wanted to bring it to their attention, not necessarily request an immediate fix. Whether the hotel followed up to inspect or repair it after we checked out remains to be seen, and will be for the next guest to find out.
Also, the pillows were quite soft. I asked the front desk if they had firmer options. The staff member who answered the phone surprisingly asked how many nights we were staying. After I replied 'one night,' she just said, 'Oh, we only have one buckwheat pillow and one memory foam pillow.' So, we had no choice but to try those. I've been to Taiwan a few times before but never thought to buy this transportation card. I always paid cash for the MRT tickets.
