I had a pleasant stay at Sheraton Grand Taipei. The staff were very professional and spoke English well, which made communication smooth. There is a convenient luggage storage service available, which was a big help.
The room was clean and well-equipped with essentials such as a hairdryer, drinking glasses, dishes, and complimentary bottled water. However, one point to note is that the lower floor houses the main restaurant, and during lunchtime, the area gets quite busy with tour groups and other guests. As a result, food smells can linger in the elevators and even stick to your clothes when walking past. It would be great if the hotel provided air freshener spray in the room to help with this.
The location is excellent, just one stop from Taipei Main Station and within walking distance to the NanXi shopping area, making it extremely convenient for both travel and leisure.

Good stay for a five star hotel, cleanliness is ok, floor is a bit sticky but it’s ok with the disposable slippers provided. No toothpaste nor toothbrush provided. Location is 10mins walk to xiaonanmen station, 10mins walk to Carrefour with McDonald’s, Japanese restaurants and discount off its bakery after 7pm. It’s very far if walk to or from Ximen station. No sheltered walkway at all so can be troublesome if rain. Tried the free shuttle service to Longshan and we were the only riders in the mini bus. For amenities, only has gym at level 16 with nice view. SPA are additional charged. Breakfast buffet has live station with shrimp porridge, breads from Hanabby bakery at level 1 of hotel, braised pork rice, oden, beef shabu etc. The food selection changed for both days I went. I stayed at Midtown Richardson Taipei and overall the room cleanliness and hotel service were very good. The room was comfortable, tidy, and well-maintained, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
However, I had a disappointing experience at the breakfast restaurant. One morning, I noticed another guest accidentally dropped a piece of bread on the floor and placed it back into the food tray. I picked up the bread and handed it to one of the staff to alert her. Instead of acknowledging it, she gave me a black face, threw the bread into an empty tray, and continued with her work without any response.
This left a very negative impression, especially since hygiene and customer service are important in a dining area.

Only issue i had was the TV does not really allow me to do mirroring nor it support chromecast. So kind of stuck with the channels that the hotel provided for night in room entertainment. An area which I find could be improved would be the hotel breakfast offering, as there is a lack of variety from day to day. Other than that the overall experience has been great. - room not super conducive for light sleepers. E.g there is gap between the pelmet and curtain so once the sun rises, the light will shine into the room, your room will not be in the complete black-out state. Can bring an eye mask to help with this!

The Taipei Fullerton is a well located and comfortable place to stay, but it's let down for cleanliness and showing it's age a little.
The first room that I was shown had someone's left half ice cream in the fridge, and the bathroom had not been cleaned properly.
Whilst they did act and moved me to a new room (which I think was a slight upgrade as it had a sofa and a little more space), you can still notice that the windows suffer from the humidity and aren't kept in good condition, and other small things like this, like the lights in the lift having dust and dirt inside them.
Also the lighting in the bathrooms is quite poor, you cannot easily see yourself in the mirror which can make shaving difficult.
A real shame these small details aren't kept on top of, because otherwise the staff are lovely and the bed is one of the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel.FromINR 9,257

We arrived slightly ahead of check-in, which is strictly from 3pm. Thankfully, the hotel provides access to the Fong Room while you wait. The space offers free drinks, light snacks, games, and a seating area. It was a really nice bonus, not something every hotel offers, and genuinely enhanced the guest experience.
We booked three rooms but only two were ready when we checked in. This was a lapse in service, particularly since there was no apology or gesture of goodwill. Honestly, it came across as unprofessional and slightly disappointing.
Another observation was the inconsistency between rooms. Even though we reserved the same room type, each had a different setup. One room was missing the couch shown in the listing and didn’t have a tub, while another had a small coffee table instead. That said, the rooms were stylish and comfortable overall. The scented foaming hand soap really stood out, surprisingly memorable!

Great for family trip. The service of room was satisfying and quite fast. As soon as we enter our room in third floor, we noticed the size of slippers provided was too large. The room and bed is comfortable enf though. Room is small but the design layout is good. The place for putting the luggage is perfectly fit for a 30 inches trunk. And there are shelves for other personal belonging as well.
Cleanliness is good too. There are micro wave and washing machines on B1.
Disadvantages:
Staff usually wear a poker face. After knowing your little special request like High Floor, better view, They simply ignore your request by not listening. And then still use the Emachine to random assign for you. Fair enough though, everyone is random. Chit chat at the counter but rarely greet any guest. Perhaps hospitality shouldn’t be applied on this 3 star budget hotel.
Soundproof super weak. Fully clear of what next door is saying. Not quite friendly for couples :)
The phone is just a decoration and an alarm clock. There’s no way to contact the FO except going down.

The only good thing about this place is that it is very close to the MRT station. The staff cannot speak English at all, so we communicated only through Google Translate. The staff tried to help us as best they could.
But the problem is the hotel room is very old, musty and dirty. I found seven cockroaches to deal with. I think there must be dust mites in the bed because I can't breathe comfortably. The hotel's location is excellent, right across the street from Kaohsiung Main Station (rear exit), so transportation is absolutely no issue. There's a 7-Eleven downstairs, making it incredibly convenient overall. The front desk and staff were all very welcoming and helpful, which I really appreciated. The room itself was exactly as pictured – definitely a bit older but thankfully no dampness or mildew smell, so it's clear they put effort into maintenance. The bedding was also very clean and comfortable. Inevitably, there were some signs of aging, with the cabinets and showerhead perhaps showing their age, but overall, I was quite satisfied. I've visited Taiwan many times, but this was my first trip to Kaohsiung, and this stay definitely left a good impression.FromINR 3,669
