Hong Kong to Shanghai Train: Distance and Duration

The sheer efficiency of the China Railway High-speed (CRH) network is best appreciated when looking at the Hong Kong to Shanghai distance.

Hong Kong to Shanghai Train: Distance and Duration

Source: China Discovery

  • The Geographical Scale: The total Hong Kong to Shanghai train distance is approximately 1,650 kilometers.
  • Travel Time: The flagship direct service (G100) offers a remarkably consistent Hong Kong to Shanghai train time of approximately 8 hours and 6 minutes.
  • The Aviation Comparison: For context, the Hong Kong to Shanghai flight time is roughly 2 hours and 30 minutes. However, when factoring in the 3-hour pre-flight requirement for international-grade security and the transit time to Pudong (PVG) or Hongqiao (SHA) airports, the total door-to-door time difference often narrows to a negligible margin, particularly during peak traffic or inclement weather.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The staff were exceptionally cooperative and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. The cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding, and everything felt well-maintained and comfortable. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a bidet shower in the bathroom, which would make the stay even more perfect. Overall, highly recommended!

Lovely hotel in a great location. Easy walking distance to shopping and sightseeing locations, especially the Bund and Nanjing Lu. Huge shopping mall close by. Metro is an easy walk, and drop off/pick up for airport transfers is convenient. Plenty of local cafes and restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is really nice. Clean, well appointed and meticulously clean. Special mention about the staff. So friendly and helpful. Really appreciated their ability to speak English, as our spoken Chinese wasn’t good. They helped us with so much information about local dining, shopping and sightseeing locations. We arrived very late at night to check in. The staff welcomed us and gave us a free upgrade. The room was beautiful. Very roomy, good facilities and one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in. We had the pleasure of dining in the revolving restaurant. Food and service were impeccable. The special chocolate globe dessert is a must have. Delicious beyond description. We stayed at the Radisson Blu for 4 nights and would happily have stayed longer. Would study there again without hesitation. Thank you for an enjoyable and memorable stay at your delightful hotel.

The hotel was very clean, and the location was excellent, close to the commercial street. We could even walk to the Bund. The kids were super excited and thrilled when they saw the room. Breakfast was decent, and the staff was very friendly. They even allowed us to check in early, which was a huge help since we arrived ahead of schedule. Out of the three rooms we booked, one was upgraded for free. Thumbs up! 👍

The room was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it's part of the Japanese Okura chain, which I'd stayed at before in Fukuoka and had an excellent experience with their service and breakfast. The staff here were courteous, polite, and enthusiastic. I purchased a hotel package that included a buffet lunch at the Magnolia restaurant. The food was exquisite, delicious, and served in small portions, allowing me to sample various Shanghai delicacies. The location is excellent, just about 3 kilometers from both the [untranslated location] and the Bund, easily accessible by shared bicycle. Many thanks to Trip.com for recommending such a high-quality hotel!

Train Station Area Shanghai|2.4km from downtown
In the cluster of hotels in Shanghai's core area, what truly sets Pullman Shanghai Jing'an apart isn't just its 'convenience,' but its precise balance between 'frequent travel needs' and ' understated luxury and relaxation.' It's like a discerning old friend: never showy, yet always hitting the right note at every critical juncture. The hotel's location is supremely convenient, a 'hub-level' accessibility. It's a 5-10 minute walk to Shanghai Railway Station and a 3-minute connection to the subway. Whether you're catching an early high-speed train or returning after a night out on the Bund, there's no need to rush. Yet, the moment you step into the lobby, the city's hustle and bustle fade away. The understated luxurious decor, paired with vibrant greenery, avoids excessive flair, instead using perfect lighting and a delightful aroma to instantly relax you. The most pleasant surprise is the 'granularity' of the service: the concierge can arrange shipping for forgotten items for guests who have already checked out, and the front desk service is warm and efficient. This unforced attentiveness feels warmer than standardized service. The rooms are an example of 'practical sophistication': floor-to-ceiling windows invite the city skyline in, the bedding is soft yet supportive, and it offers both a full-sized desk for business travelers and connecting room options essential for families. Even the sofa in executive suites can be converted into an extra bed free of charge, revealing a thoughtful consideration for different guest demographics in every detail. The leisure area on the 6th floor is a hidden gem: a 28℃恒温 swimming pool with the Jing'an skyline visible through floor-to-ceiling windows. In the evening, the golden sunset reflects on the water, creating stunning, high-quality photos effortlessly. The 24-hour gym ensures exercise is never a chore. It lacks the gimmicks of 'influencer hotels' but, through a profound understanding of the 'essence of travel and living,' it enables business travelers to be efficient and stress-free, families to be comfortable and at ease, and solo travelers to find a sense of relaxation. In Jing'an, where every inch of land is precious, a hotel that 'understands needs and offers warmth' truly is the premier choice for accommodation.

The location is fantastic, close to Zhang Yuan and the new Louie ship, also the largest Starbucks. You can find both luxury shopping and dining options nearby. The hotel is situated at the back, providing a quieter atmosphere, which I prefer. However, if you stay on a higher floor, the network connection may not be very stable. If you're not particular about having a view, this is the best location to choose.

Stumble upon this hotel recommended by Trip. Book it and definitely no regrets, amazing stay! Room is beautiful, Location is just right beside the Bund. Good food and good scenic places reachable by foot. Staffs at the Hotel is very friendly and helpful! Especially Ella, who facilitated my check in and guided me through the process very patiently. I was also offered an upgrade for a deal price and that was one of the best decision made! Simply lovely. It doesn't end there, Ella went the extra mile when my Taobao orders I bought were sent to the wrong hotel due to me keying in the wrong address. Ella kindly assisted me to contact the hotel that my parcel was mailed to for confirmation, followed by guiding me to that hotel to pick up my parcel! It would have been a mess without her help. Thank you again Ella, take care!

The house is being renovated, so for the weekend, I decided to stay overnight as a local resident of Shanghai. During the two years of the pandemic, I also took my child to many iconic local hotels to experience them. After considering factors such as comfort, location, cost-effectiveness, dining, service, opening hours, and overall quality, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends planning a trip to Shanghai. The staff are very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location is excellent, situated in North Bund, Hongkou District, which is not too noisy and offers easy access to various amenities. For those visiting Shanghai, there is a stand-up comedy show nearby that is definitely worth checking out. The dining options are plentiful, and you can easily reach Siji Minfu within walking distance. The North Bund City Terrace and the Waibaidu Bridge are also within walking distance. Last night, I took a stroll around the area and stood at the North Bund City Terrace. Seeing Shanghai and Pudong's Oriental Pearl Tower from this vantage point was truly breathtaking.

Today is my last day at The Westin Bund Center Shanghai. At first, I loved the hotel, but unfortunately, the experience has slowly deteriorated. Before arrival, I had tried emailing ************************* to make a small request to celebrate an anniversary, but the email failed to deliver with an error saying the recipient’s server didn’t recognize certain characters. I’m not sure why, as the email was in English and sent from my phone. At check-in, I mentioned this to the receptionist (his name started with “C”), who was very polite and spoke to the lady behind him, asking her to reach out to Angela to assist. He then told me to head to my room and assured me I would be contacted. I waited for an hour in the room with no update, so I went out hoping to find a message upon my return, but sadly, there was still nothing. The email issue could have been my fault, and that is fine. But what is unacceptable is being promised a follow-up for such a special occasion and then never receiving it. For a hotel of this standard, I expected better communication and service consistency. Later, my son lost part of his toy, which led me to start searching around the room. While doing so, I discovered dust under every cabinet. Worse, I found what looked like someone else’s cream bottle stuck between the bed and the dresser. This makes me believe that the bottom part of the bed sheet was not changed, as housekeeping would almost certainly have noticed such an item if the bed had been properly stripped and remade. I have stayed in many Marriott properties, and this is the first time I would give only 2–3 stars. :(

The location is unbeatable. Food, drinks, and entertainment are right downstairs, and it's just out of Exit 3 of Jing'an Temple Metro Station. Luxury stores on Nanjing West Road are only a couple of stops away, and Yuyuan Road offers a quaint, old Shanghai vibe with its plane trees and charming old houses. The hotel itself is nestled between two streets, avoiding the crowds but still capturing the essence of old Shanghai. The residential building in front of it is even the apartment where Eileen Chang wrote 'Love in a Fallen City.' The service is excellent, from the doormen and front desk staff to the housekeeping aunties and restaurant chefs. The breakfast isn't extensive, but it has all the essentials, and it's all healthy food. If you prefer a Western breakfast, they offer more cheese and ham than most hotels. While the facilities are a bit older compared to newly built hotels, it's still highly recommended. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Every time I come for a staycation, the hotel lobby feels bright and comfortable, and the service is excellent. I'd especially like to commend a lovely lady from Malaysia named ”Evelyn.” She's not only beautiful but also very professional and well-mannered! As soon as I arrived, she had already reserved a room for me on the 19th floor. The room was comfortable and tidy, and the housekeeping staff was also fantastic. Every time they saw me return, they knew my preferences and would specially prepare extra items I needed in the room. It truly felt like home, very warm and inviting. The coffee and tea used in the room and lounge are also imported. As for the hotel's breakfast, its quality hasn't declined over the years; in fact, it's gone up a level! The variety is richer, and the taste is superb! The hotel also has many other facilities, including a Shanghai cuisine restaurant, a Western restaurant, and a Cantonese Chinese restaurant. There's also a gym. The hotel also has a very comfortable terrace, perfect for chatting and relaxing~ I highly recommend everyone come and experience it; you definitely won't be disappointed!

The grandeur of old Shanghai can still be vividly imagined through the Peace Hotel. Many hotels ask if you'd like your luggage sent to your room, but the Peace Hotel doesn't. From the moment you arrive at the entrance and say ”checking in,” your bags are taken care of all the way to the walk-in closet in your room. If you get lost inside (like I did), don't worry about not finding help; staff members are everywhere, proactively approaching you to ask if you need anything. Our twin room wasn't huge but was cozy and comfortable. The S-shaped layout ensured the room was very quiet. In fact, the entire guest floor was quiet and elegant, with a lovely sweet cinnamon scent. **Amenities**: Great water pressure, pleasant-smelling toiletries, delicious breakfast, large bathtub. The pool is a bit small but rarely crowded, and the gym is also empty, with equipment offering views of Nanjing Road. Parking is available but very limited, and the access road is always full of tourists taking wedding or portrait photos, making driving difficult. The location is excellent, right at the Bund end of Nanjing East Road, a five-minute walk from the subway. **Cleanliness**: Extremely clean. **Service**: Excellent.

Amazing staff and service, everyone we saw welcomed us with smiles and hand to their heart. The only complaint was the AC didn’t work out first night so it was hot for me. Let's cut to the chase and get straight to the good stuff. If you're too lazy to read, just scroll to the bottom for the summary. **Hotel Environment:** Located within a resort complex, the overall ambiance is great, featuring a Japanese Zen garden. **Hotel Location:** They offer six-seater business shuttle services to Disney, directly dropping you off at Metro Station Exit 4. Booking is convenient. For other places in Shanghai, you can also take the hotel shuttle to Exit 4 and start your journey on Line 11. It only takes about 40 minutes by metro to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street near the Bund. **Hotel Hot Spring:** After a long day at Disney, soaking in the hot spring is incredibly relaxing. It's exclusively for hotel guests and comes at no extra charge, offering excellent value for money. **Hotel Dining:** While breakfast isn't extravagant, it has all the essentials and is more than enough to refuel after a morning of queuing and walking at Disney. I highly recommend the pork soft bone ramen and the charcoal-grilled pork belly ramen; a bowl is usually enough to satisfy a noodle-loving child under 10. The scallion pancake is crispy and fragrant – I even took one to Disney with me. The stir-fried cabbage is fresh and delicious, and the bamboo shoot soup is incredibly tasty. The steamed soup dumplings, honestly, weren't that great; they were the only minor flaw in an otherwise excellent meal. **Hotel Facilities:** They have photo sticker booths with various licensed themes, including Zootopia, and the claw machines are relatively easy to win. My child had a blast. **Summary:** In my opinion, this hotel offers better value for money than Disney and the Toy Story Hotel. The six-seater business shuttle, hot spring, and restaurant are definite bonus points. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Shanghai Disney Resort Shanghai|23.52km from downtown
I used to stay in high-star hotels, but in recent years I have booked homestays when I come to Disneyland. I have a better understanding of the overall situation of the surrounding homestays. The bosses are all people who love life, the staff are relatively enthusiastic, and the room types are relatively unique, but the circle of time still gave us a surprise: 1. The staff's night shift is really ”night”. We arrived late, and they were still waiting for us at midnight. For several days, we left WeChat messages at one or two in the morning. They were surprised and answered questions as they came. On the first day, Shanghai was only more than ten degrees. If we wanted a quilt, we gave it to them. If we wanted to turn on the air conditioner for heating, we turned on the air conditioner. We also told us that if we needed to order takeout, the staff would wait... When the weather changed, they should have helped us collect the clothes that were hung out to dry (when we returned to the room at night, the clothes were returned to the room from the balcony, thank you 🙏) 2. Very friendly to children and pets. We brought many children with us (other guests also brought pets), and we were often afraid of disturbing others when traveling, but here we can let them go completely, safe, practical, and natural (only parents who travel with children carefully can understand this feeling) 3. The environment is very good, with an independent small courtyard, an independent restaurant, a book bar, lawn, swimming pool, small animals, etc. open 24 hours a day in the courtyard. The surrounding area is also very quiet. The boss also thoughtfully arranged a moonlit night barbecue and fireworks for children. The barbecue skewers are great! 4. Breakfast is already very rich in B&Bs, with porridge, corn, sweet potatoes, milk, buns, eggs, fruits, pickles, calculated by person, and you can add more if you need it; If you want to be picky, of course there are some small problems that B&Bs may have, such as some small facilities such as hangers are a bit loose, and idle furnishings cannot be bright and new all the time. Guests who choose B&Bs cannot be evaluated by the standards of five-star hotels. Finally, I want to say that I chatted with the staff in my spare time and learned that they have a small number of people and a high work intensity, working day and night shifts (in fact, there are many conscientious people in every industry), and they really love the B&B business! If you have the passion to do a job, you may be able to do what others cannot do in a short time; but if you love a job and do it, what kind of work status can you achieve over a long period of time? You can only feel it if you come here.

The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

Jing'an District/West Nanjing Road Shanghai|2.12km from downtown
Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, but it has both very prominent strengths and weaknesses. First, the positives: 1. The hotel's location is absolutely superb. It's within walking distance of Jing'an Temple, Yuyuan Road, Anfu Road, Plaza 66, CITIC Square, Jing'an Kerry Centre, and Jiuguang Department Store. Shanghai Exhibition Centre is right across the street. This is truly the heart of Jing'an, making dining, entertainment, and transportation incredibly convenient. 2. The hotel's executive lounge offers five complimentary meal services throughout the day, which is very convenient. This hotel has the highest density of foreigners I've seen in China, truly international-friendly. The staff's English proficiency is excellent, and the hotel even provides foreign currency exchange services. Now, the drawbacks: 1. As the first Ritz-Carlton to open in China in 1990, the facilities and decor definitely show their age. However, the flaws don't overshadow its merits; most things are perfectly adequate. But I do hope they'll add kettles to the rooms, especially in autumn and winter, as it would be nice to have warm water. 2. The hotel service can be a bit polarizing. There were noticeable queues during check-in and check-out. Room service is very attentive, but sometimes it felt a bit intrusive. The soundproofing in the rooms could also be improved. Overall, I still recommend it.

Lujiazui Area Shanghai|3.12km from downtown
I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt Jin Mao multiple times, and I truly love this hotel in Lujiazui! Even though it's an older hotel that's been open for many years, the rooms are exceptionally well-maintained and preserved; you can't see any signs of aging! The room amenities are comprehensive, and both the bedding and toiletries are excellent. The bath products are Balmain, which are really good! This time, Ivy, the guest experience ambassador at Jin Mao, proactively contacted me before my check-in to ask about my preferences and even upgraded me to a Club River View room. I'm so grateful for her thoughtful and meticulous service! The room directly faces the Lujiazui Financial Center, and with the river view, you can clearly see the Oriental Pearl Tower. Both the night view and the daytime scenery are absolutely stunning! The Executive Lounge's afternoon tea starts at noon, and while the selection isn't huge, the evening Happy Hour is truly fantastic. The food is abundant and delicious, and it lasts a long time, from 5 PM to 8 PM! I absolutely adore the hotel's breakfast buffet. Although I missed it on my first day back in China due to jet lag, on the second day, I spent a full two hours savoring the lavish breakfast! The breakfast is divided into Chinese and Western sections. Personally, I think the Western section has a better view as it faces the river and the Oriental Pearl Tower directly, but both Chinese and Western dishes are incredibly plentiful and taste great. The breakfast on the 56th floor was so good that I didn't even bother to check out the breakfast at the Club Lounge! The hotel's location is superb; not only is it in the heart of Lujiazui, but the subway station is also right on the B1 level. It's also very convenient to take a taxi to various attractions and shopping malls in Puxi! A special thank you to the concierge department this time. My suitcase broke during my last stay at Jin Mao a week ago, forcing me to buy a new one at a mall on Nanjing Road. Since I was rushing to go abroad at the time, I had to leave my old suitcase with the concierge. I only picked it up again from the concierge a week later after returning from my trip abroad. I'm truly grateful to the concierge staff! Both this stay and my previous one, the hotel was fully booked, and almost all the guests were foreigners, with very few domestic tourists. Yet, even with such tight room availability, the hotel still reserved my preferred room type for me, which I truly appreciate! Overall, I highly recommend staying at Grand Hyatt Jin Mao! The location is super convenient, making it easy to get anywhere. The rooms are clean, tidy, and refreshing, and the beautiful views are incredibly therapeutic. It's perfect for both relaxation and enjoying the scenery!

Staying at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund was an absolute delight! The location is superb, with stunning views of the Bund riverfront right from the window. A special shout-out to Katrina, Kaly, and Yulia for their incredibly attentive service. They were very responsive to our needs, which made everything so effortless. The overall experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai!

A Heartfelt Birthday Stay Filled with Warmth and Grace From the very beginning, this stay at The PuLi Hotel and Spa felt truly special. Before my arrival, I had written an email mentioning that it would be my birthday. To my surprise, I received a beautifully written reply from Jason—so genuine, poetic, and full of grace. His words alone already made me feel deeply welcomed and cherished. When I arrived, I was astonished to find that I had been complimentarily upgraded to a suite, complete with a lovely birthday cake and two handwritten cards prepared by Belle, a sweet college intern. Her warmth and sincerity truly touched me. At one point, I jokingly asked for extra bath amenities because I loved their scent so much. The front desk, realizing how much I liked them, surprised me by sending a generous selection of them to my room, beautifully packaged with care. I was both touched and a little shy — it felt like they could read my heart. Everything about this stay—from the thoughtful details to the effortless kindness—reflected a rare kind of hospitality that comes from the heart, not from routine. To Jason, for your poetic kindness; To Belle, for your genuine warmth; and to The PuLi team, for making my birthday and reunion so unforgettable— thank you, from the bottom of my heart. This will always remain one of the most beautiful hotel memories of my life. 💛

The Sukhothai is my top choice for both business and family trips to Shanghai. I remember staying there shortly after it opened, and now I've been a loyal guest for several years. This time, I traveled with my child, and I specifically requested two connecting rooms. The front desk service was incredibly nice, preparing Thai desserts, chocolates, and children's toiletries for my little one. The hotel is conveniently located right next to HKRI Taikoo Hui, with direct elevator access. The Old Jesse restaurant nearby is also delicious. In short, I'll definitely keep staying here. It always feels very safe and reassuring.

The Bund Area Shanghai|2.48km from downtown
The hotel boasts a prime location, with the Pearl River View rooms offering the absolute best Bund river views – encompassing the iconic 'Pearl Trio' (Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center) and a fantastic C-shaped bend of the Bund that combines both. The rooms are elegant and minimalist, with the double sinks being a particularly nice touch. Note that the hotel has two buildings, so pay attention to the room type when booking if you want a river view. The hotel staff are professional and attentive. On the morning of our check-in, we received a call asking about our arrival time and any special requests, and they arranged a high-floor room for us, which was excellent! Despite the hotel being quite busy, the front desk and concierge handled everything efficiently and smoothly. When we accidentally took the wrong elevator after breakfast, a hotel employee inside quickly assisted us. Our room attendant, Anna, also provided excellent service throughout our stay. Surprisingly, the breakfast was outstanding – incredibly rich and varied, with Chinese, Western, and Japanese options. The Western dishes, in particular, were delicious. This stay was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely bring my family here next time.

Hello everyone! Mr. Li is back again! Time flies. Last time I stayed at Pudong Shangri-La for five nights in late April, and this time, I’m here with my family for two nights. First of all, the Christmas decorations inside and outside the hotel are absolutely beautiful. It's not a flashy kind of luxury, but rather a unique charm and romance that's characteristic of Shangri-La. Truly lovely. My car was parked in B1, and Manager Wang from the front office happened to be by the elevator. He's a very responsible leader and helped us with our luggage and check-in. It made us feel so welcome, truly like coming home. It's precisely because leaders like Manager Wang are at Shangri-La that even the somewhat dated hardware at Pudong Shangri-La doesn't seem to matter as much. Perhaps I'll keep choosing this place because of outstanding individuals like Manager Wang. The front desk staff, Xiao Guo, handled the entire check-in process courteously and professionally. Commendable. I won't say much about the room's hardware. It feels very familiar, but it is indeed a bit old. Two out of three power outlets weren't working too well. The hygiene was satisfactory as well, and all the aunties were very polite. However, I do have one complaint to report this time. It concerns a male employee in the soft-boiled egg and beef porridge area at the breakfast restaurant. My wife and I passed by this area around 10:30 AM on the 7th. This male employee was preparing the porridge. We asked him something, and he suddenly responded very rudely, saying, “Five minutes! Five minutes!” His tone was extremely impatient, and he didn't even look up or make eye contact with us. It felt very disrespectful and impolite. Why do we remember this male employee so vividly? Because he sometimes also appears in the omelet and egg roll area, and when we stayed here in April, it was also this same male employee. I remember clearly that his attitude was very poor and nasty then too. He frequently glares at guests, not just us, but other guests as well. I hope the hotel investigates this and takes serious action against this employee. Firing him would probably be best. I honestly find his presence upsetting; it seems like he truly dislikes his job. To give some inappropriate examples, Manager Wang from the front office is like an angel from heaven, while this male employee is like an emissary from hell… Also, the junior service staff in the restaurant are all very good and dedicated. Commendable. Today around 11:30 AM, I called concierge to ask for a cart to help with check-out. However, after waiting for about 15 minutes, no concierge staff showed up. My elderly parents and children couldn't wait any longer. My wife and I had to carry all our bags ourselves, which was quite difficult. This was also very disappointing. Perhaps they were very busy, which I understand. I reported the situation to the concierge, and a male concierge wearing glasses said they were busy and seemed willing to help me with the luggage, but his movements were just too slow, too slow. I really couldn't take it anymore, so I just said, 'Never mind, I'll do it myself.' This felt a bit incomprehensible... In the B1 parking lot, a Tesla was directly blocking the aisle, making it difficult for many guests to pass. Luggage and strollers couldn't get through normally. I hope the hotel can strengthen management in the parking area. The quality of some people is indeed very low nowadays, and this is particularly severe with the Tesla demographic. They're all somewhat abnormal individuals. Finally, I still want to commend Manager Wang Binran from the front office. His resolute and serious attitude, and the way he treats guests like family, are truly exceptional. I hope the hotel's senior management sees this message and gives Manager Wang the highest recognition, ideally a promotion and a raise. I believe this is the sentiment and request from me, a loyal guest, and many other guests!

The North Bund Area Shanghai|3km from downtown
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding my recent stay at your hotel. The room I received was completely inconsistent with the photos and description shown during my online booking. I specifically booked a red-themed twin room with a central Bund view, and I even informed the hotel in advance that I preferred a high floor. However, upon arrival, I was assigned a room on the 8th floor, with a yellow-themed design and an edge-side view. From this room, two-thirds of the view was blocked by buildings, and only a small portion of the river could be seen — and even that was only visible when standing close to the window. The Oriental Pearl Tower view was almost entirely hidden. When I raised this issue with the staff, they denied any discrepancy and claimed that the only twin rooms available were in the yellow design, which clearly contradicts the photos shown during booking. I paid extra to upgrade to a Bund view, and it is unacceptable that I was initially placed in a room with such a limited and obstructed view. Only after I became very firm with my complaint did the staff agree to change my room to a double room with the proper central Bund view. This entire process wasted over one hour of my time, involved unnecessary waiting, and demonstrated poor service handling, especially for a hotel that claims to be five-star.

Our hotel butler, Bruce, communicated pleasantly on WeChat before check-in, and although we didn't meet in person after checking in, he was always kind and enthusiastic in assisting us. The other hotel staff were also very professional, reflecting the standards of a five-star hotel. The hotel proactively upgraded our room, and the view was perfect! There were a lot of guests staying that night, but the hotel's soundproofing was excellent; we couldn't hear any noise from the adjacent rooms or the hallway, ensuring a very quiet rest environment! The breakfast quality was superb; one bowl of beef ramen instantly surpassed all hotel breakfasts I've had before!

Is the third time that we stay at this hotel an it never disappoints. Is the perfect hotel if you want to stay near Hongqiao station or the airport and it has plenty of dining options around and things to do. The line 2 takes you straight away to the city center and to PVG airport if needed, but bear in mind that PVG airport is very far from here. The hotel breakfast is well balanced with many options, both local and western. The service, gym, pool and amenities are on point. Spacious rooms, nicely cleaned and comfortable. Definitely will come back next time I stop in SH again.

I stayed here for one night. I came here after leaving another hotel that wasn't good. I'm so glad that I came here instead. I really got such a good night's sleep. One of the hotel staff, Ekko, was extra helpful in answering my questions in English, allowing me to stay longer in the lobby while I waited for my friend and even offered me a bottle of water. He was very welcoming! The the bed is so comfortable and soft and the hotel is very clean. And the breakfast is also delicious. You also have a vending machine on the first floor that takes digital payment and a mini refrigerator in your room. There's also a smart TV with HDMI and screen mirroring. It's great value for money and it's also just a really comfortable place to stay. The interior design is really beautiful and eclectic. I think you'll have fun just hanging out in the lobby, good music playing, for a couple hours doing some work at one of the many sitting areas in the lobby, if you're a digital nomad like me. Really nice vibe!

As a business traveler with a packed schedule, I'm taking advantage of a rare free moment today to praise this hotel apartment. This was our first stay at Citadines Gubei. The lobby is spacious and bright, and front desk staff member Wei Kaijie greeted us with a friendly smile, showing us the guest rooms and providing a detailed overview of the apartment's facilities. Manager Fu Renjie is highly competent. We stayed in room 1752 on the 17th floor, and the housekeeping staff there are very meticulous, especially Liu Gaiqin, who has an excellent service attitude. She diligently cleans our room and bathroom daily and promptly replenishes our amenities. The hotel breakfast is very generous, and for takeout orders, a robot delivers them directly to the room door. What truly sets this hotel apart, and what I haven't experienced in other hotels, is that the front desk staff go above and beyond their own duties to deliver guests' packages directly to their room doors. This made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip.
