優越的地理位置,非常好的建築,擁有精心佈置的公共區域(特別是圖書館)。友好而周到的服務和美味的食物(推薦下午茶)。房間裝飾得很好,寬敞明亮。但是有很多噪音,主要是來自內部來源。所以絕緣確實應該改善。走廊裏可以聽到所有的聲音,當淋浴/浴室在鄰近房間使用時,管道會發出很大的噪音。這不是我所期望的這個級別的酒店。

Our assessment of our 3 night stay at the Waldorf was mixed. The hotel was very nice and as a Diamond member we were upgraded to a castle view room. The complimentary breakfast was very good and the front desk staff were generally helpful. We did have a problem one night with the light fixture leaking water from the ceiling. This may have been due to a rainstorm one night and staff brought a bucket to catch the leaking water. The biggest problem, however, occurred after checkout. At the time of checkout I was told that the hotel printer wasn’t working so they would email me my receipt. Since all 3 nights were paid for with HH points I asked if there was a zero balance and was told yes. Later that day I received the final bill and was charged over $1,000 on my credit card for all three nights. I immediately called the hotel and was told by in house reservations staff that my reservation had been cancelled when I didn’t show up. I reminded them that we had been staying with them the last 3 nights and had no problem at checkin on the scheduled day. In fact I confirmed our arrival time several hours before checkin. So they didn’t know what the problem was but would talk to the reservations manager when they were free. In the meantime I called the Hilton diamond desk and again was told that someone had cancelled my stay with points and it had been rebooked by someone as a cash stay and they were not sure what the problem was. My points had even been put back onto my account by someone. By now I am a bit irritated. I finally receive a call back from the hotel reservation manager who tells me that the Waldorf had a computer glitch on our arrival date and that all hotel reservations had been cancelled and had to be manually reentered by hotel staff. However, Hilton hotels have no way to make reservations using points so they made them as a cash payment. Thereby the $1,000 bill. Now glitches are bound to occur sometimes. However, all of this angst could have been avoided by telling me at checkin about the problem and I could have immediately rebooked the room using points while standing at the front desk. The hotel did ultimately reverse the charges and apologize. However. this shouldn’t happen at a property like the Waldorf.

We just needed somewhere to sleep for 1 night and it provided exactly that. I had read the reviews but wasn't fussed as was the cheapest hotel room we could find in all of Edinburgh. Room was clean. Only 1 pillow so that was uncomfortable though. Bathroom looked recently refurbished. Furniture in the bedroom was tired. But it did the job for 1 night at a very cheap price. Tea/coffee etc available in the room. We knew we would be arriving late at night as flight was delayed, I called the hotel number in advance and explained, lady on the phone was very pleasant and gave me the code for the door and told me which room we would be in. Entered the hotel without any trouble at all.

I dont even know where to begin… the check in system is a joke. The only advertised picture that was accurate was the front of the building. The rooms are definitely not what’s shown on any of the listings. The staff are argumentative. My friends hair dryer (that the “hotel” provides)caught fire and they accused her of smoking in the room and we’re gonna charge her for such. And their solution after yelling and arguing with her was to open the windows for the day and over night. As it is Scotland in November that is just ridiculous considering the rain,wind and cold weather. Not to mention her room did not have any working heat. After 3 days of a 14 day stay there was no hot water whatsoever so needless to say showering was dreadfully uncomfortable. They certainly don’t clean the units very well. The beds were atrociously uncomfortable and old likewise were the pillows. They don’t refill or replace any of the items in the rooms such as towels, bedding or coffee.(yes these are minor things)but when the heat doesn’t work and there is no hot or even warm water they should go out of their way on the small things. The rooms do not have refrigerators so you’re forced to use a mini communal fridge in a shared lounge much like a hostel. There were numerous bed insects in my room that had been there some time so if and when they do clean the rooms it’s clear it’s not very well. The TVs hardly work at the best of times. The carpets were old and grimy. The rooms have no telephones and management is near impossible to get a hold of. And I’m sure they’ve never even set foot in the building perhaps even the country. To claim being a boutique hotel and not even have hot water for bathing is a joke. Even prisoners have hot water to shower. The thing I’d say I’m most surprised about is that none of our belongings went missing. So if by boutique hotel they mean they won’t steal your things I guess they are but on all other accounts they are lower in quality than a youth hostel. I would strongly recommend staying any where but this “hotel” you’ll be happier you did. I’ve coming to Edinburgh every year since 2017 and this was far and large the worst hotel I’ve ever stepped in to. So bad that we were willing to take our loss and book at a different hotel for the remainder of our vacation. I do believe this “hotel” needs many improvements to the building and the staff alike. One star cuz I can’t give negative stars
