Gorée is a beautiful island near Dakar, kissed by the shining sun that makes you stay so wistful and romantic. It was a pleasure to spend time there. Only a few issues with the place where I sojourned. Cockroaches in the room. The owner said that it happens in rooms where people love eating inside( we haven't ever done it!). By the way, they provided an insecticide. The water in the shower was cold, most of the time. When I switched on the boiler, the owner called me from the upper floor (scolding me as if I were her daughter) telling me that the power had gone out due to the boiler being turned on. Maybe when it is night or early morning should be warm

This is a small accommodation set around a lovely garden courtyard less than 10 minutes from the port. Our room in the garden area was large, with a comfortable bed, a/c, a fan, wi-fi and excellent staff. There is a petit dejeuner of fruit, breads and confiture on the upper terrace. And, there is a shop connected that has whatever you might need.

I stayed twice at chez Eric and I am pretty sure I will come back. The place is spotless. Comfortable and 100% safe. So quiet and yet so close to hectic Dakar. The staff is nice and helpful. And the breakfast with hot croissants and homemade Bissap the best I had in Senegal. The kind of hotel you will never forget. L’endroit est magique. Propreté impeccable. 100% sûr. Tellement calme et pourtant si proche de la cohue de Dakar. Le personnel est efficace et chaleureux et le petit déjeuner (croissants chauds et bissap fait maison) le meilleur que j’ai eu au Sénégal. Le genre d’hôtel que vous n’oublierez pas.

Sympathetic hotel, friendly staff and a bit of the backpacker atmosphere. I had a nice and clean room, breakfast was on a lovely terrace. Everything is at walking distance, obviously. A bit outside the touristic center. Highly recommended.
