We stayed here for one night while visiting the Kauri trees. The lodge is in a very convenient location for this. The welcome on arrival was super friendly. The rooms were clean with a good shower. We thought the style of the rooms was somewhat dated but that is down to personal taste. Beautiful and extensive gardens. We didn’t eat dinner here but breakfast was superb. The best pancakes I have ever had! The hosts were helpful and charming and gave us lots of local tips. Would definitely recommend.

A relaxing eco-experience on the edge of the forest. We took a stroll through the forest, relaxed in the hot tub and watched the sunrise from Adirondack-style chairs on the lawn. Dinner and breakfast is home cooked by one of the owners…

Just wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had yesterday at the lodge !!! Karen and Eric are amazing hosts and we were blown away by the quality of the accommodation and the standard of the meals and the hospitality we received!! Karen’s attention to detail in the accommodation and Eric’s culinary expertise are second to none! We would just like to thank them for an amazing stay xxx

Waipoua Lodge is a lovely historic lodge in a beautiful, peaceful location with stunning gardens and forest walk. Our accommodation was very spacious and well-appointed with an extremely comfortable bed and excellent shower as well as a separate roll-top bath. The real stars are the hosts Karen and Eric. They are the nicest people who took great pride in providing truly exceptional service. The food and beverages for dinner and breakfast were outstanding. I wish we had booked to stay for longer and we would definitely like to stay again.

Absolutely fabulous accommodation. The location is incredible and the grounds breathtaking. We walked into the beautiful woodland and around the gardens. The food was first class and the owners very friendly and welcoming to us. We stayed in The Woolshed, a beautifully restored building which was very tastefully furnished and comfortable. Had everything we could ask for. Can highly recommend this property.
