I just came back from my stay at this guest house and I can only state that I loved it, for various reasons: - the location: Right in the middle of Amsterdam. Whatever you want to visit, it is just right around the corner, the old town, the museums, the Anne-Frank-house, all within walking distance. The same is true for food, there are restaurants and shops just around the corner. - the room: (had the lower room) Surprisingly quiet considering it is next to a busy street. Lovely furniture and you can definitely feel the history in this place. Bed is very comfy and the bathroom is very clean and well maintained. - the host: Very pleasant person, always helpful, whenever I had a question he almost immediately answered my message. alltogether a fantastic place; just be aware that the entrance to the place is a very steep stair, almost like walking up a ladder. Combined with the unevenness of the floor in my room I felt like being more on a ship than in an hotel, but then Amsterdam was always a seafaring city so I felt great.

We have just come back from a long weekend stay here Gani is a nice host and the room was nice right on the edge of the red light district. but a few things have changed since our last two stays, firstly there is no breakfast just a coffee machine you can use ,where before there was excellent breakfast food supplied , and secondly the noise at night really wasn’t acceptable it started around midnight and didn’t stop until 3am, ear plugs were provided in the room but they didn’t stop enough of the noise to allow you to get to sleep. If something could be done to stop this noise it would still be a good place to stay even without the breakfast.

Das Guest House liegt nahe beim Bahnhof, wenn man sich von der steilen Stiege und der unauffälligen Eingangstüre nicht irritieren läßt wohnt man in einem netten, sauberen Zimmer mit viel Raum. Einen wenig höher gibt es eine Küche, für Tee und Kaffee ist alles vorhanden. Der Gastgeber ist sehr aufmerksam. Die Lage ist optimal, man kann in Amsterdam praktisch alles zu Fuß erreichen.
