One day in Shanghai 🌃

S H A N G H A I 🌆 Shanghai greeted us with wind and cloudy weather [we weren't able to put on dresses, or rather, we were left in the clothes we arrived in]. 🚍 I had pre-booked a free hotel transfer; we were met and dropped off half an hour before our hotel. 🔸️After dropping off our bags, changing, and showering, we went to reception to ask for help calling a taxi to the metro [for some reason, we couldn't get it either through direct dialing or through WeChat]. We spent about half an hour trying to explain to the girl what we wanted through a translator—it was difficult and time-consuming [when I asked one question, I would get an answer to something completely different, or she would answer us back]. English isn't spoken here, which makes things very difficult. 🔸️In the end, we managed to get to the nearest Huinan metro station, and from there we went downtown – buying a transport card and finding our way around were easy. 🔸️The walk to Yuyuan Garden took about an hour. We strolled through the old town, grabbed a bite at a Macaroni and Cheese shop (because we couldn't find anything better suited to our tastes and needs), tried some spicy octopus, and headed to the Bund. 🌃 The view of the city at night, the business district, and the TV Tower was definitely breathtaking. We missed the ferry (it runs until 6:30 PM, which is inconvenient), so we took the metro to the other side.
