Shanghai Natural History Museum

Shanghai Natural History Museum is a must-visit destination when in the city. Even with just two days to explore, this museum was on my long-awaited list. Inside, the museum features various themes that cater to children of all ages. Both my elementary school-aged sister and kindergarten-aged sister had a great time. It is recommended to book tickets in advance, especially during holidays, as tickets are limited. You can book through the museum's Mini Program. Ticket prices are 30 yuan for adults, 12 yuan for students, and free for children under 6 years old or those not exceeding 1.3 meters in height. However, online booking is still required, and don't forget to bring your ID card. Start your visit on the 2nd floor and follow the designated route to explore all zones without backtracking. The 2nd floor, "Origin Mystery," showcases the universe and the Big Bang, along with a 4D Cinema. The 1st floor, "River of Life," offers a close encounter with nature. The B1 floor, "Path of Evolution," features dinosaur escapes and future pathways. The B2M floor tells the story of Shanghai, while the B2 Exploration Center includes fossil digging activities, a Treasure Hunt, and learning about biodiversity. The museum is flat and convenient for those with young children or strollers. Highlight activities include fossil digging, which takes about 30 minutes, Cosmic Big Bang for 12 minutes, and Escape the Cretaceous for 10 minutes, all of which require booking through the app after ticket verification. Additionally, there is "Earth’s Power" for 8 minutes and the Light Show of Africa every hour for 8 minutes. This museum is packed with knowledge and fun, making it perfect for both children and adults who want to experience the natural world up close.
