A fabulous base for climbing Mount Batur. Comfortable rooms, a geothermal pool and wonderful views of both the volcano and the lake. Our guide, Eddie, was thoughtful and knowledgeable and it was great to be able to tap into all his local knowledge. We were pretty shocked by the motorbike taxis almost all the way up Mount Batur - apparently this is a fairly recent development. It is worth planning to do more than just the sunrise mountaintop trek, if only to get away from the crowd. Trekking round the crater at the top of the volcano was a memorable experience, and worth doing - even after a 3.30 am start !

Great place to stay at mount Batur. If you are planning to hike on the volcano, this might be the perfect spot to stay a night or two (we recommend two nights). You can book the hikes directly at the place, when you arrive, whit normal prices. The rooms and food are ok and prices as well. The jacuzzi is filled from 38 degree warm water from the hot springs. That’s very nice after you coming back from your hike in the morning. Also watching sunset from the warm water. We had very good experience with the owner (Made) and service in general at this place. They helped us a lot and where super friendly. We recommend to stay one night more to rent a scooter and drive around the area (f.e. Around the outer crater).

It was a great pleasure to spent some time at the Batur Volcano Guesthouse. The place has wonderful views over the lake and mountains with an access to the natural thermal pool. The rooms were clean and spacious, we had really nice food (you should definitely try fried fish and mie goreng) and the host is super friendly, caring and helpful (we already miss his smile :) Hope we will be back one day, thank you!

A great place to spend a few days and climb Batur for sunrise. The hotel has swimming pools with hot spring water. Additionally, in the resort, you can eat delicious fish prepared by local residents. The service is great, people are always smiling and helpful. I'd love to go back there. :)

++ piscine chauffée, bon guide, personnel sympa, calme - pas d'eau chaude pour la douche, pas de climatisation mais ventilateur, pas de crab dans cette ville et impossible que le taxi vous amène à l'hôtel au vue des routes ,chats et mouches à volonté....
