The staff were lovely and welcoming but my room was not only very dated but also very dirty and smelled of damp. There were spiders everywhere (including in my bed, where I also found a silverfish). I spoke to the staff and they came to dust around the window where some of the spiders had been, but it was very late when I got to my room and I didn’t feel like I could ask for the whole thing to be cleaned. There were hairs everywhere, the floors clearly hadn’t been hoovered and the walls and skirting boards were covered in dust and cobwebs. There were even cobwebs and dead spiders in the pleats of the curtains. I understand that it’s a countryside pub and creepy crawlies are to be expected but I’ve never seen anything like this in a hotel room before. I counted at least 20 spiders in the short night I spent there. The fittings in the bathroom were clean but the shower curtain had a disgusting stain on the outside and the shower was blocked. I’m sorry for the staff to have to leave a review like this but I was really shocked by the place and barely got any sleep and I wish I’d had this information myself before booking!

Visited The Plough with friends & had lovely meals, mine was a sirloin steak with all the trimmings perfectly cooked with the added bonus of desserts being free on a Monday evening. Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble and a very enjoyable experience at customer friendly prices. Well done all at The Plough.

Our friendly walkers arrived back at the Plough after a 7-mile hike to find a warm welcome waiting for us, lovely to sit out in the back garden with our drinks before a fabulous meal - rump steak, fish & chips and vegetarian lasagne all recommended - Cheers!

I stayed here with my daughters, we had a birthday party in Wellington to go to. We had a warm reception from Steph, our rooms were clean and the beds really comfortable. Because it is a pub we were back in time for a nightcap, and they had a wide range of beers,ciders and spirits to offer. It made a weekend away with my grown up daughters really special, and the full English breakfast was exactly what we needed to send us on our way. We had such a good time,we forgot to take any pictures!
