We stayed here last minute for an appointment very early the next morning. I arrived at 5pm. Collected the key at the bar and was shown to the room. Clean and spacious. Bathroom nice couldn’t fault it. Without doubt this place is above a bar it was noisy we’d packed our earplugs so it was grand. It was central and very close to Dublin City at a great price. It was value for money. Was overall happy with everything.

We stopped here on our first day back from the US. The atmosphere is welcoming and they have a good selection of food and drinks. Some outdoor seating but plenty of room inside.

This review is for the pub meals. Extremely disappointing. Would not recommend eating here at all. My seafood chowder was a potato chowder. Served on a pile of mashed potato with chunks of potato made out to loom like scallops with bits of carrot. It had one tiny 2x1cm puce of fish and 5 very tiny mussels. That was it. My partners fish and chips was not fresh fish. Not a nice flavor .

Ate in the Lombard pub for dinner, beef stew had 3 cubes of beef in a bowl of gravy, chips served were oven chips half cooked. Pretty poor by any standards. Neither server or bar staff asked if food was ok during meal. If your hungry in this street check out the subway cafe.

This review is for the townhouse. The room only - not for the restaurant. The rooms here at the Lombard seemed to be a mixed bag. My family was broken up into two rooms while 1/2 of the family had an excellent room, great comfortable bedsheets great shower I am the other hand got stuck in a room where water dripped from the ceiling and down the walls whenever someone above me took a shower. The only way to reach anyone in the establishment was to wait until the pub below opened and since we checked out early in the morning, there is no way to contact or talk to anyone about this incident. The water from the ceiling drench anything I had in the bathroom which included my toothbrush and other toiletries. I had to use all the towels provided to mop up all the water on the floor because it was just a big puddle. I tried two separate email addresses to reach the Lombard about the water situation and the wet floor, including the electrical hazard for the room considering water came out of the ceiling light. I was left with an email saying they will get their technician to look at. No compensation for the room, nothing. The only benefit here with the townhouse is its close proximity to the college and a few other things otherwise it was a bare basics room. As this is above a pub, expect many rowdy guests and plenty of those hen party drinking bicycle tours to stop buy. Randomly though, everything quieted down by 10pm. Free wi-fi was advertised but as we, and other guests figured out, the wi-fi was best in the stairwell and had a number of guests camped out on their computers to do work. If you are all about cheap and the location is where you need it - it fits the bill. Personally I found it unsanitary and an electrical hazard to stay here.
