This is possibly the best hotel I have ever stayed in!!! The staff and cottages were amazing!!! Let's start with the (only small) negatives... the cottages are a little remote from Knysna centre so you are reliant on using Uber. There is a wonderful on-site pub, but it stops serving food quite early. Plus it is hard to get cars back after 10pm at night. Therefore, some people may be better off staying more centrally. HOWEVER, nowhere else will match the beauty and tranquility of these cottages! The perfect place to relax! Stock up from a supermarket and build a new home!

Es un sitio precioso, al lado de una laguna. El desayuno y la cena buenisimo pero no puedes ir con priesa, mas de una hora para que nos trajeran la cena. No esta preparado para el frio, solo hay un calefactor para toda la casita , suerte de las mantas electricas que nos salvaron del frio por la noche. Es un sigio muy recomendable para ir pero mejor cuando no hace tanto frio.

Aan de overkant van Knysna ligt Belvidere. Een voormalig manor is in gebruik als hotel/cottages. Mooi aangelegd. Prima ontbijt. Prachtige tuin. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Je kunt zo naar t strand in Brenton of naar Knysna.

Questo complesso è formato da tanti cottage, sembra di essere tornati dietro nel tempo ad inizio ‘900. Le casette sono tutte molto belline, molto grandi però con mobilio e suppellettili un po’ vecchi. Anche il tappeto/moquette per terra dava la sensazione di vecchio. La casetta era molto fredda nonostante le giornate miti però per fortuna con 2 termosifoni in dotazione, ci si riscalda. La colazione é stata ottima è servita in un bel prato con vista lago davvero suggestivo. Si trova un po’ fuori dal centro di Knysna quindi l’auto è d’obbligo, ogni casetta tra l’altro ha anche un suo posto auto. Abbiamo poi cenato una sera presso il pub del complesso The Bell visto che eravamo stanchi di uscire. Un po’ angusto, pochi piatti serviti di cui alcuni da prenotare in anticipo ma il fish and chips che abbiamo preso era molto buono. Insomma, non è una località per divertirsi ma più per riposarsi e rilassarsi.

We had another excellent stay here, our 4th time over the years. The Bell was great for dinner and the staff were lovely.

The location was great for our needs. Rooms comfortable spacious and well appointed. Had a satisfactory supper in ‘The Bell’ pub. Breakfast was a disaster! Asked for 3 HEALTH BREAKFASTS after about 5 minutes another waiter came and told us sorry we have No fruit in Hotel. Really as a person who has spent most of my working life in the Hotel business I was gobsmacked ( unbelievable but true). Oh and during our stay never saw a Manager.

What a treat for my family. Stayed only one night in a garden cottage and it was amazing. Unit was very well equipped, location and view were superb. Staff were insanely helpful, friendly and professional. Special mention to Luke who assisted with a braai and some wood. Amazing place this.

Amazing View and location. It was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our time and the attention to detail in the room itself.

With the best views across the lagoon, Belvidere is perfectly positioned for peace and tranquillity. Beautiful gardens to wonder about in. A good breakfast is served until 10.30am. Room we stayed in (in the converted conference center) was small unfortunately and could have at least a closed cupboard . Great TV selection and a large screen which was super. The Bell serves nice food but they must ensure they stay open during the stated hours. We arrived for dinner one night at 8.20pm to find them closing up so we had to go all the way to Knysna to have something to eat. Walks around Belvidere are fabulous. A must-visit is the Holy Trinity Church.

We went there for Sunday morning breakfast, sat at the rear of the manor with a lovely view over Knysna lagoon. Excellent value breakfast in an amazing setting. Skilfully served by attentive staff. Big thank you for the best breakfast we enjoyed in Knysna.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is top notch and absolutely stunning, providing a wonderful view of Knysna as well as being tucked away in natural element of the Garden Route. Beds are super comfortable and cosy, breakfast was delicious and the service was top notch. We will definitely be back in the future and will recommend our family and friends.

Belvidere is situated overlooking the lagoon in spectacular gardens. The cottages are spacious, well equipped, and has spacious patios to the front and the back.

Well this place is certainly a hidden gem. An assortment of cottages of 1 and 2 floors. All set around Belvidere House with large oak trees and flowers. Really is a pretty location. Part of the estate has the Bell pub which serves lovely food. Our home had 3 bedrooms over 2 floors, all big with well furnished rooms and a large kitchen with oven , fridge and a washing machine. Also had 2 bathrooms. Met on arrival in reception by Neilen and what a lovely helpful person he is. Breakfast was included with a good choice and the cooked breakfast was delicious. Lincoln was our very attentive server. So if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the area you will not go far wrong here. The setting itself is something special. The hospitality of South African 🇿🇦 people who are so genuine really stood out here. Belvidere management please recognise the very special employees you have in Nielsen and Lincoln who are a credit to you and brings people like me back again. See you next time. 🇿🇦🇬🇧
